Ningbo Horizon Mold Technology Co., Ltd. has recently successfully completed the manufacturing and delivery of a set of 7,200-ton integrated die-casting mold base for battery packs, marking a new milestone for the company in the field of ultra-large mold base processing.
This mold base is mainly applied to the integrated die-casting production of new energy vehicle battery packs, which imposes extremely high requirements on machining accuracy, structural strength and thermal stability. Faced with challenges such as oversized dimensions and difficult deformation control brought by the 7,200-ton clamping force, the Horizon Mold team relied on its fully upgraded digital workshop to realize full-process closed-loop management covering process design, stress analysis and on-line inspection.
During the processing, the constant-temperature workshop with a temperature control accuracy of ±2℃ and high-precision machining centers ensured that the key tolerances were stably controlled within ±0.02mm. The adaptive machining system compensates for tool wear and material deformation in real time, effectively suppressing vibration and thermal drift in the processing of large workpieces.

This delivery not only further enriches Horizon Mold’s product portfolio in the integrated die-casting mold base sector (including front cabin, rear cabin and battery pack), but also verifies the company’s systematic processing capability for high-performance materials such as P20. Adhering to the tenet of high quality and short delivery lead time, Horizon Mold will continue to help new energy vehicle manufacturers improve the integration efficiency and lightweight level of battery packs, and provide the industry with more reliable integrated die-casting mold base solutions.
